Selling a house one has owned for over 20 years, at a moment of uncertainty in real estate and other markets, is complicated and can be more than normally emotional.  Life occurred in that house and that both needs respect and makes parting difficult – not to mention the task of separating things that need to be divested from those that should be moved to one’s other living places.

The process overall needs an expert – someone who knows local markets and has seen the difficulties of both finding and selling homes people love.  I found that expert in Liza Danforth, sales associate at Millbury and Company in South Dartmouth.  From the late spring of 2025 when my home first went on the market, to late January 2026 when it finally sold, Liza was by my side, talking frequently to me and often being at my property while I was traveling for business.  I came to trust her completely – she always knew what the next step should be and how to take it.  And I also know that her calm competency was a mark in my favor in dealing with the family who ultimately purchased my home.  I spent a lot of time when I could, moving, discarding and otherwise dealing with the accumulation of items (and memories) from this large house.  Liza was there – as a colleague and a knowledgeable professional – keeping me “sane” over the number of months involved.  The sale happened March 2, 2026, and all went well.  Thanks so much Liza.
